Who among us hasn't experienced the familiar scenario: you rush to the train in the morning, pull out your phone, rummage through emails and look for where your ticket is. In the meantime, the train is either arriving or has long been at the stop. And the stress is rising. Google has decided to put an end to this common inconvenience, and honestly, it's a big relief.
If you use Gmail and Google Wallet, you're almost there. Once you purchase a ticket and receive an email confirmation, the app will recognize it and automatically add it to your digital wallet. And the best part? You don't even have to think about it. Just open Wallet and the ticket is there. That's it.
Now you know where your train is. And when it will arrive.
But the real magic comes when there's a delay or a change of platform. Google Wallet shows you what's happening with your connection in real time. And you don't have to rely on radio announcements or the carrier's website, which goes down when you need it most. Everything important is right in your pocket.
You might be wondering if this is just some American gimmick. It's not! The feature will probably work in Europe (and therefore in the Czech Republic). It already works with several European carriers and more are gradually being added. What's more, everything shows that our carriers such as ČD, RegioJet or Leo Express will follow suit.

You can view your ticket not only on your phone, but also on your Wear OS watch. And if your battery runs out? No problem, Wallet also works on the web, for example via a laptop or tablet.
You don't have to set anything up, nothing complicated to solve. All you need is Gmail and the Google Wallet app. And the next time you get an email with a ticket, everything will happen automatically. You just open Wallet and you know when and where the train leaves. And most importantly, if it's even running.
It may seem like a small feature. But if it eases your daily worries and eliminates unnecessary stress, it's worth it. And that's exactly what this is all about. Travel should be convenient, not stressful. And Google Wallet is moving in that direction, exactly where we want it to be, to help in those ordinary but important moments.
Google also hints that this is just the beginning. It plans to support more ticket types, more carriers, and possibly even integrate with other transportation apps. So if you travel regularly, you definitely have something to look forward to.
