In an era where we're bombarded with one cutting-edge phone after another, it's hard to find something that keeps its own identity. But the HMD Skyline 2 is different. It's not just a social media machine, it's a solid piece of hardware that will win you over at first glance. Colorful variaColors like Neon Pink or Twisted Black evoke the legendary Lumia, while still having a modern twist.

Design with a soul. And an extra screw

What's really great about the Skyline 2 is its repairability. HMD has teamed up with iFixit to create a phone that you can take apart at home without an engineering degree. The battery, the display, the ports, you can all easily replace them. In an age where everything is made "disposable," this is a small miracle.

Inside, the heart beats in the form of a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor. Sure, it's not exactly high-end, but combined with up to 12 GB of RAM, it can handle multitasking, gaming, and more demanding applications without any problems. Internal memory goes up to 256 GB, and if you want more, you can add a microSD card. Simply no limits.

The main 108Mpx sensor? That sounds nice on paper, but in practice… it works great. The photos have great contrast, true colors, and in good light they look like they came from a catalog. Plus, there's a 13Mpx wide-angle lens and a 50Mpx telephoto lens that really zooms in. And for selfies? 50Mpx with eye autofocus. Yeah, this is a camera that you'll enjoy.

A 6,55-inch pOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate? Fast, bright, smooth. And it won't hurt your eyes. Combined with Full HD+ resolution and brightness of up to 1000 nits, it can handle the sun. And if it falls? Gorilla Glass 3 can usually handle it.

The 4600 mAh capacity promises two days of normal use. And when the juice runs out? 33W wired charging, 15W wireless, even reverse! But most importantly, you can actually replace the battery. This is something that today's manufacturers unfortunately neglect.

The Skyline 2 runs on pure Android 15, and HMD promises two major system updates and three years of security patches. It also offers a “Detox Mode” that helps you disconnect from notifications and finally relax. Such a small thing, but a big difference.

When will we see it?

According to available informationmacThe HMD Skyline 2 will arrive on the market in the summer (specifically July) 2025. The price should start at 399 euros (approx. 9 CZK) for the version with 900 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage. Higher variaThe model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage is expected to cost around 499 euros. And if HMD maintains its philosophy, the packaging will also be paper and the phone will be free of unnecessary plastic.
