You might be thinking, “Another action camera, what’s new?” But when you pick up the Insta360 X5, you’ll immediately understand that this isn’t just another upgrade. This little beast has the heart of a professional. The manufacturer has finally listened to users’ wishes and released a camera that can do more than just shoot footage of your bike ride.

The 1/1,28″ sensors are much larger than the previous X4 and, most importantly, can collect more light. If you've ever shot at dusk and were left with only sparkling spots, this won't happen to you anymore. The video from the X5 is sharp, clean and the colors are absolutely faithful, even if you're shooting a night city or foggy mountains at dawn.

If something breaks, you just replace it.

And now something that will please anyone who has ever scratched a camera lens: the X5 has interchangeable lenses. No more expensive repairs or gluing on protective glasses. Just unscrew and put on a new one. This simplicity saves money, nerves and the entire trip. Whether you are in the snow, sand or rain, you don't have to worry about your camera betraying you.

The X5 shoots 360° in 8K resolution at 30 fps. If you're happy with the "lower" 5,7K, you can also shoot at 60 fps. And if you want to slow down a shot of yourself riding a longboard? No problem, 4K can handle up to 120 frames per second. The results are breathtaking, and you can easily take the camera on a smaller shoot for a client.

The camera has a “PureVideo” mode that smooths out noise in real time, increases contrast, and can improve images even in difficult lighting conditions. And if you don’t feel like adjusting every detail, you can simply twist the camera (literally) and it turns on. This “Twist to Shoot” feature is subtle, but it saves time and nerves.

The battery has 2400 mAh and lasts up to 3 hours in power saving mode. And if you do run out of juice, you have an 20% charge within 80 minutes. This is useful not only on trips, but also for professional work, where there is no time to waste. In addition, the battery is replaceable, so you can easily have one in reserve.

When we tested the camera in the rain and when filming underwater, there was no problem. You can dive with it up to 15 meters without a case. And if you are planning a trip to the mountains, the camera will not be surprised by frost or wind. The construction feels solid and durable, exactly as it should be.

How much does it cost?

The price is not the lowest, but it is not a bargain either, the basic version of the X5 sells for $549,99, which is about 13 CZK. And for the “Essentials Bundle” with accessories you will pay about 000 CZK extra. The package includes everything you need to get started, covers, holders, and an extra flashlight.
