Imagine this: you wake up, go make some coffee, open your laptop with the hope of ordering a new console. But hey, GameStop, Target, Walmart, and Best Buy are already saying, “Pre-orders closed.” It was literally a race, whoever clicks first wins.

At times, even the store websites themselves went down. The surge was so huge that the servers simply couldn't handle it. Players' frustration was heard everywhere - on forums, social networks, and in the editorial offices of technology magazines. Nintendo probably didn't expect such a storm.

Higher price, but so is performance

The Nintendo Switch 2 is no small investment. With a price 449,99 dollars (approx. 9 crowns) is more expensive than the original model, but it offers a larger display, faster performance and a bunch of new features. If you want more, you have to pay extra. And Nintendo knows that fans will be happy to do so.

Nintendo has also opened up a limited pre-order window for those with an active one-year Switch Online membership and at least 50 hours of gameplay on the original console. So if you've been spending hours of your life with Mario, Zelda, and co., you might have an advantage.

Along with the console, new game titles are also being prepared: Mario Kart World, Hades II, Donkey Kong Bananza or Hyrule Warriors: Age of ImprisonmentSome of them are exclusive to the Switch 2, and fans are already speculating which one will be the "system killer."

Nintendo has promised that the next wave of pre-orders will take place on May 8th. To do this, it is holding a public eventy, where players will be able to try out the console, with the first stops being Dallas and Toronto.
