Installing and deleting apps on Android is a routine affair for most users – download, try, and if it doesn’t work, uninstall. But Android now offers smarter options that make it easier to test new apps and manage storage.

One of them is Private Space (or alternatively a second user profile). You can try new apps first in a separate space where they don't have access to the main content of your phone or your data. This makes it easier to see what application permissions It requires that it doesn't contain too many ads or bugs and that it really does what it promises. If the app doesn't work out, you can simply delete it without affecting your main profile.

If the application proves to be successful, you can install it permanently on your main profile. The disadvantage for now is that transferring data between Private Space and your main account is not easy, so you have to set everything up again. The second smart feature is application archiving, which arrived with Android 15. Instead of a classic uninstall, archiving removes the installation files but preserves all data, settings, and logins. When you restore, you have the app back in its original form in a matter of seconds – including your account, notifications, and permissions. This is ideal for seasonal application or services that you only use occasionally – such as travel or sports appky.

Thanks to these features, you no longer have to waste time or data unnecessarily. Private Space protects against poor-quality applications and archiving saves space without losing your settings.
