Google has released the first Android Canary build of 2026, specifically Android Canary version 2601 with the designation ZP11.251212.007. This preview build is intended primarily for developers and enthusiasts who want to test new features before they make it to the official release.
The biggest news of Android Canary 2601 is function integration Quick Share (formerly Nearby Share), which allows file sharing between Android and iOS similar to AirDrop. This feature was previously only available for Pixel 10, but it is now also available on Pixel 9 series, which significantly expands its availability.
