The world of smartphones expanded last year with another category. They became ultrathin mobile phones, for which manufacturers maxthey have reduced all possible components to the minimum possible thickness. First, Samsung introduced its thinnest mobile phone, followed by iPhone Air from Applu. And Xiaomi also had big plans, wanting to introduce the Xiaomi 17 Air. But that didn't work out in the end and probably never will.
Xiaomi 17 Air was almost ready for release. A well-known leaker with the nickname Universe Ice posted a short video on his X social media account showing a prototype of this mobile phone, and it shows that Xiaomi had everything perfectly thought out. The mobile was apparently supposed to become part of the Xiaomi 17 series. It has four members so far, namely Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and Xiaomi 17 Ultra. This is clearly closed and the thin mobile phone will probably not come out anymore. Xiaomi may have assessed in time that the interest of customers in the device, which it is trying to attract mainly with its thickness, is not that great. And so it wisely backed down. On the other hand, Samsung and Apple now they are paying the price for their courage.
