Having trouble with your smart lights on Google Home? You're not alone. Users around the world are reporting that their lights, smart plugs, switches, and other devices are suddenly showing up as offline in the Google Home app — even though they're working properly.
According to several complaints on Reddit, it affected Google Home outage of a whole range of devices regardless of brand or integration. Offline status mainly concerns lights, light groups, sockets and smart switchesConversely, cameras, speakers, and other devices usually show up as online and are working normally.
Restarting the app or removing and re-adding the device doesn't help yet. Additionally, some users report that their automation doesn't work either – which completely disrupts the normal use of a smart home. There are also mentions of air purifiers or speakerswhich also reports an error.
The good news is that Google officially acknowledged the problemAccording to a comment posted on Reddit, this is a server-side error. So it's not something that the user can fix themselves - the fix has to come directly from Google.
"We are aware of an issue that is causing some devices to appear offline in the Google Home app. We are working to resolve this and will let you know once a fix is deployed," a Google representative said. Although so far no exact date of repair has been published, it can be expected that this will be a server update that will be released in the coming days.
