AT&T has expanded its family offering with two devices for children: the amiGo Jr. Phone and the amiGo Jr. Watch 2. The goal is clear – to give children their first device, but at the same time notchat parents in control of screen time, apps, and safety. And it's this type of simple start that makes the most sense to me in practice, because the child gets fun and the opportunity to connect, while you get more peace of mind.

AmiGo Jr. Phone was created in collaboration with Samsung and its parameters are very close to Galaxy A17. Offers:

  • 6,7″ FHD+ display (2340 × 1080)
  • chip Exynos 1330
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 128 GB of storage with microSD option up to 1,5 TB
  • the battery has 5 000 mAh and the materials mention charging to 50% in about 30 minutes (details on performance are not given)

Photographic equipment of this copy Samsung Galaxy A17 is also interesting. It has 50MPx main + 5MPx ultrawide + 2MPx macro sensors and on the front you will find 13MPx camera. There is no shortage 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, Dual SIM, GPS and durability IP54K.

The phone runs on the Android 16 operating system and is complemented by amiGO application for parental control. I was particularly impressed by the fact that it offers valuable features such as location sharing, "Safe Zones" or school schedules/timetables.

amiGo Jr. Watch 2 will delight children and parents

The amiGo Jr. Watch 2 children's watch has 1,6" display (320 × 320) with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, Snapdragon Wear 5100 chip, 2 GB RAM a 32 GB storage. Interesting is 5MP front cameraThe battery has 600 mAh, durability IP68K a 5 ATM, connectivity is Bluetooth 5.1 and LTE 4GAs for valuable parental features, they are available:

  • SOS
  • parental limits
  • school regime
  • option to turn off the camera

The amiGo Jr. Phone is meant to stand 209,99 USD (or $2,99 per month for 36 months with plan terms), the amiGo Jr. Watch 2 will be available on 169,99 USD (also $2,99 for 36 months with the appropriate plan). They will be sold through the AT&T website, the myAT&T app, and in the carrier's brick-and-mortar stores.

I think the price for a mobile phone and watch for a child is very favorable and, considering the equipment and performance, it is very reasonably set. As I know Samsung mobile phones, it will be an ideal choice for the least demanding users - even if they are not children.
