Xiaomi is not afraid to innovate and tries to keep its mobile phones at the forefront of current technologies. In addition to using the most powerful chips, secondary displays or batteries with a capacity of 9,000 mAh, it also intends to excite us with very advanced cameras. According to the current leak, the Chinese manufacturer is developing a 200MPx sensor, which will probably go into mass production. And it should first appear in the Redmi K100 and Redmi K100 Pro models Max.
Recent Redmi K90 got two 50MPx cameras and was released on the global market under the POCO brand. Redmi K90 Pro Max even boasted triple 50MPx sensorThe next generation will have similar naming for the global market, but the advancements in the camera department should be unprecedented.
A Chinese leaker with the nickname Smart Pikachu has hinted on Weibo that Xiaomi is preparing to launch mass production of its 200MPx sensor. It will probably be about periscopic telephoto lens and it should appear for the first time in the series Redmi K100.
This would be a very significant shift and Xiaomi could start with its POCO brand compete with flagship models od OPPO whether Living. Everything also indicates that the 200MPx periscope telephoto lens should also appear in the global versions. According to the current strategy, these will be released under the following names:
- REDMI K100 ➔ POCO F9 Pro
- REDMI K100 Pro Max ➔ POCO F9 Ultra
200MPx periscope in the mid-range
It is unclear whether both models will offer such a massive camera or just Ultra version. Xiaomi has not yet commented publicly on this. Even if there was one, it would be a sensation. POCO focuses on mobile phones that offer excellent price/performance ratioThanks to this, a smartphone with extreme performance, long battery life, and excellent camera zoom could suddenly appear in the mid-range mobile phone segment.
If Xiaomi manages to complete the plan, it should start to worry above all Samsung. His turn Galaxy A is also competing with POCO models, but is already losing a lot to them. And users may soon start to make decisions when buying a new mobile phone not based on loyalty to a particular brand, but on the features offered. In this regard, Xiaomi is starting to look like the clear winner, in my opinion.
