LCD displays have been on the decline in mobile phones in recent years and are only available in the most basic models. In the lower middle class and above, we are already encountering AMOLED or pOLEd displays, which boast high resolution, high brightness and a refresh rate of at least 120 Hz. All the more surprising is the move by Xiaomi, which decided to give the upcoming iQOO Z11 series only a basic LCD display. And this trend may unfortunately continue.
Series iQOO Z11 od Xiaomi will definitely be worth paying attention to. According to a leaker nicknamed Digital Chat Station, the device will have a model number V2551A to dispose of:
- 9,000 mAh battery
- 90W charging
- Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip
The leak suggests that it will be a mid-range phone that will dominate in terms of endurance. It will impress with its charging speed and its chip will move it among more powerful devices. But there is one catch. The phone belonging to the iQOO Z11 series will apparently be released in two versions. While one will get a fairly advanced LTPS display with 1,5K resolution, the second (probably iQOO Z11x) will get 6,76-inch FHD+ LCD display.
The crisis forces Xiaomi to reduce its claims
Why Xiaomi making such a concession? We don't have an official statement, but it is likely that this is not a completely voluntary decision. Paradoxically, the current situation will be more to blame crisis around memory and AI chips. Some supply chains are starting to collapse because of it. At the same time, mobile phone manufacturers are forced to pay more and more for basic components, so they are trying to save money elsewhere. On the way to cost reduction without the need for price increases mobile phones may be using a worse display.
I'm really sad about the situation we're in. Everything is moving towards AI and a lot of people consider AI chatshoes for fun in free time. They don't see that this is why more and more data centers are growing, consuming huge amounts of amount of energy and also waterThe big question is whether the current boom is sustainable or the beginning of a journey to hell. Each of us is paying the price.
