The weather can be nice, but it can also be quite troublesome. It's not just about rain or frost, but about truly dangerous combinations of conditions that go beyond normal weather fluctuations. Hail, ice, floods. In practice, this means not only a canceled trip, but also much more serious problems that can endanger property and health. In such situations, it's good to rely on a truly professional risk assessment.

The Czech application Ventusky is now adding a big new feature: official meteorological and hydrological warnings from national meteorological institutes around the world. And most importantly: it collects them all together into one appand unifies them into a clear form.

What is important about it?

These alerts aren't just estimates of possible developments. They're official warnings issued by national meteorological agencies. Instead of hunting for them on dozens of different websites and in different formats, you see them right on a map.

How it works in Ventusky

A separate layer has been added to the application WarningsOn the map, alerts are displayed directly above specific areas, and you can see the essentials in each one right away:

  • validity from–to (when does it start and when does it end)
  • severity level (differentiated by color)
  • brief descriptionwhat to expect

And if you don't want to keep checking the map, alerts can also come as notifications.

Safety first

When the weather gets this bad, the best decision is to wait, change your plan, or avoid the risky location altogether. You just need information to do that.macboth on time and ideally from the official source. Both are now brought to you by Ventusky in version 51.
