Foldable smartphones are attractive with their high-end features and futuristic design, but they are also among the most expensive devices to repair. Just a few days after the launch of the Vivo X Fold 6, the manufacturer published an official price list of spare parts, which shows how much the most common repairs will cost after the warranty expires. And as expected, the biggest hit to the wallet is the replacement of the internal flexible display.
The most expensive component? Definitely the internal display
Vivo X Fold 6 It is one of the most technologically advanced foldable phones today. However, the folding panel is also the most complex and expensive component.

The official price for a complete replacement of the inner display is 3,780 yuan. However, Vivo is offering a one-time 25% discount on the first repair. If only the panel itself is damaged without replacing the entire assembly, the repair will cost about half as much.
This confirms a trend across the entire foldable phone segment. Samsung, Honor, and Huawei also charge similarly high amounts for replacing the main display. Flexible panels remain one of the most expensive components of modern smartphones.
The external display and battery no longer cost that much
On a more positive note, the cost of repairing more common components is low. The outer display cover glass alone can be replaced for just 299 yuan, while the entire display module costs 920 yuan.
Battery replacement is also very reasonable. A new 7,000mAh battery costs 259 yuan. This is an amount comparable to repairs on regular flagship phones.

A motherboard can cost almost as much as a new phone
The most expensive repair after the display is replacing the motherboard. The price depends on the memory chosen. varianty and ranges from 3,700 to 5,200 yuan, which represents a significant portion of the purchase price of the phone.

Service work is paid separately
It is important to note that the published amounts only include the cost of spare parts. After the warranty expires, Vivo charges a service fee of 50 yuan per service visit. If multiple components are replaced during a single repair, the customer only pays this fee once.
Vivo X Fold 6 is currently intended primarily for the Chinese market and availability in other markets has not yet been confirmed. This means that the prices listed represent the official Chinese price list and if the phone is eventually launched in Europe, different service conditions and higher repair prices can be expected due to logistics, taxes or labor costs.
